Five years ago I made a nearly successful suicide attempt. Only an act of God saved my family from discovering a lifeless body after they came home that day.
I have been an entrepreneur and small business executive for my entire adult life, and have known many other entrepreneurs and small business owners, all dealing with the physical, financial, and psychological stress of starting, operating, and growing their businesses.
Business failure in one’s middle age – with children to financially support – makes restarting more difficult. As does a medical diagnosis of depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation.
So I thought I would get this out there, with the hope that if I can help one person decide their life is indeed worth living, I have done some good in the world.
